Located in a quiet residential area of Cardiff. The room was small but clean, comfortable and quiet.Parking could be difficult as it's street parking only and spaces appeared to be very limited.Breakfast facilities weren't available - very disappointing as advised at the bar that it would be available from 7-9.00am

Well appointed and clean room , if somewhat expensive for one night with no breakfast included. Staff were friendly .The bar downstairs was very reasonably priced ( for Cardiff) and friendly . I would certainly stay again though I would probably look for a cheaper option first

Such a good night's sleep. Rooms are so well decorated and very clean. Sound proofing in the building is also very good.

Local pub with good beers and friendly staff. Recently refurbished rooms that were clean tidy and more than adequate. Weather was wet so taxi’s to city centre with no problems. No evening food available but great breakfast and nothing too much trouble for the lovely staff. Ideal for what we wanted. Would definitely use again.

My default place to stay when in Cardiff. Spotlessly clean, large rooms with powerful hot shower. Ususal tea/coffee kettle provided. Beds are really nice and soft.Keyless entry provided by a text from the owners on the day of the stay.

The Croft Hotel is small and very clean. The staff are very friendly and will do anything for you.It is well positioned and although the rooms are above the pub it is soundproofed so very quiet.Breakfast was very good and very reasonably priced.Will use again.

Twenty minutes walk from city centre area seemed quiet if a bit in need of redevelopment,secure entry door with pass code same as room, lovely posh room, good size excellent facilities very good shower, mattress was too soft but still had good night sleep, very nice modern decor, would happily stay again.

The room was perfect for our overnight stay. It was warm and clean with a good size bathroom.Added bonus was free parking right outside. Very friendly staff. We didn’t try breakfast as we had an early start but the reviews I read were positive. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.

Enjoyed my stay and was looked after well (even had the lovely black cat greet me at breakfast).There was a slight mix up with my checkout request as I has requested a 2pm checkout due to running the Cardiff Half Marathon that the ladies were unaware of, but luckily I had saved my email from Stephen that had confirmation of my request.

Arrival and “come and go as please” is really helpful as you have your own room & hotel code.Breakfast is tailored to what you want, very nicely cooked and gluten free food accommodated, which is so lovely to have.Spacious rooms. The room was very comfortable.It was very clean.I was a bit surprised that there wasn't any food but understand the pressures that the staff are under and the problems in recruiting more staff.I had a pint in the pub. I realise it was a Friday night and that noise should be expected but it did seem a bit too raucous.

I am glad I chose The Crofts for my short stay in Cardiff. The location was perfect for a walk to/from the city and the room I stayed in was in excellent condition. I didn’t see much of the staff, but I got the feeling of a friendly atmosphere around the pub/hotel.

Arrival at this hotel was stressful, due to the unavailability of parking spaces. In this area there are double yellow lines and parking reserved for residents. I was told that some people who are not hotel guests leave their cars in the legitimate places to park during the day.That said, once in the hotel room was spacious with good and comfortable facilities. And considering it is a pub hotel, it was quiet in my room at night.The location was good and I could walk to my event in the city centre with ease.

I was very surprised to find this little pub with accommodation so near to the city at this very good price.I’m guessing the rooms have all recently received new decoration, furniture etc and all was basic, clean and tidy. I loved the bathroom with a proper window and good walk in shower.I had heard the food was very good but unfortunately my plans changed and I had to leave after my first nights stay, so didn’t get to have breakfast.Parking wasn’t too bad, you just need to make sure you are not in a permit holders only spot. Luckily I found a good space just around the corner.Although this is a very built up area, it was quite.Comfy bed, pillows a little harder that I like but they didn’t spoil my sleep. If I stay again I would just take one of my own.I liked the registration process and that you don’t have a key to worry about.Access to rooms is up stairs, maybe a little narrow if you are carrying lots of luggage but not a problem.Would consider using again if in the area.

Was in Cardiff to watch my team Luton play Cardiff City on a Tuesday night.Had read reviews warning the pub underneath could be noisy. This did not put me off and glad it didn't. Heard no noise at all.I was in an attic room. Was comfortable and clean with towels and a nice hot power shower.Less than a mile from City Centre was perfect base as I just left the car parked outside and walked everywhere.Bed extremely comfortable and fell asleep almost immediately.Room had USB sockets that were a bonus as I had forgotten my charging plug.Will definitely stay here again if I am back in Cardiff.

Modern, high quality conversion and the rooms were excellent. Wedding parties etc downstairs so a bit noisy but all quiet by midnight. No designated parking, just on street by hotel. Lovely quiet area and a great stay overall.

The place was lovely and, as a female traveling alone, I felt very safe. The people were lovely and welcoming. Slight issue with parking as alot of the area was residential only but I did manage to park quite close. Very close to the city centre....only about 15 mins walk. The room was clean and quite sufficient for my needs with tea and coffee readily available. 10 out if 10 ...would go again

This is a great place to stay if you want a spotlessly clean room which has just been updated, with very friendly staff. However it is a pub so it may not suit everyone.The parking is on street and it takes a bit of detective work to find a spot; the stairs to the rooms are a bit steep and it is a pub so there are people enjoying themselves and making a bit of noise, so it may not be for you if you are a light sleeper.But I loved it and would definitely stay again.

Steve and Lorraine are the perfect hosts. They really care about guests. Room was spacious and spotlessly clean. Shower was powerful. Look forward to returning.

The room was clean and comfortable, self check-in was easy. The parking was on the side of the road and it was a bit unclear how long I could stay there, but since I was only there for 1 night and I found a space it was fine. Breakfast was an additional £7 so I decided to just eat elsewhere.

Had a very pleasant stay for a few days. Roath is not your typical hotel area, but situated above a pub it's a great hideout and not far from the centre at all. Great coffee places, q park, and restaurants nearby, friendly hosts, all in all very happy with my choice.

This was my first stay at The Crofts. I had an easy check-in, having already been texted my door code. I was helped to find a parking space, almost outside the building. My room was spotless, comfortable and airy. Perfect actually. I had a couple of drinks in the bar, very reasonably priced. Had a great night’s sleep. Would recommend and definitely stay again.

Really enjoyed my stay at The Crofts. The bedroom was spacious and comfortable, immaculate with an amazing power shower. Steve along with all the lovely staff were very obliging to my needs to store a bike, prepare early dart full Welsh breakfasts and provide decent beer night caps! It was a 30 minute walk to town or a 10 min bike ride. I would certainly stay here again.

Minimalist, clean and comfortable room in a convenient location in Cardiff. Only issue was not receiving a sheet as requested on our online booking confirmation as our stay was during a very hot spell. Furthermore the room had no air conditioning so a fan would have made the room much more comfortable than it was.

This hotel was a great find. Myself & 3 friends were in Cardiff for the Brayan Adams concert. The hotel is perfectly located for the town centre and Cardiff Castle. Check in was easy. My room was clean, comfy & nice bathroom.Very pretty entrance and we were met by a whistling parrot!!!There is no car park at the hotel Street parking available but not guaranteed outside. We were lucky and did find a space opposite the hotel. Friendly, helpful staff.

Only booked for a single room so was surprised by the size of the room. Room was spotlessly clean and shower was fab. With the separate entrance no worries of getting back in after returning from a concert late. Decided to walk in to Motorpoint, so saved a few pounds on parking. Had a great night's sleep, not too noisy for a city centre location. Would definitely use again...just not when Ed Sheeran is in town! 🙂

On arrival there was free on road parking. We were greeted by Lorraine the Manager. A very amiable person. Our room , number7 was spotless, as was the rest of the hotel. It was a 15 min walk to the centre of Cardiff. The breakfast was an informal affair with Lorraine again at helm. The £7:00 charge per person was well worth it. You could request a combination of any breakfast items you wanted. Tasty and well presented. All in all a very pleasant stay. Would stay again.

I stayed for one night three of us shared a room.The room was above the pub and spotlessly clean with en suite bathroom.Having a drink in the pub before going into town was great as the staff team and locals were very friendly.A lovely breakfast in the morning at a price that I thought was very fair.Would recommend.

A comfortable and spotlessly clean room (I had a single) which was perfect for my trip to Cardiff. I would say that it was a good 20 minute walk to the centre so fairly central and I was visiting the Motorpoint arena ……… my mistake was wearing heels !!!!

We arrived around 6:00pm after a very long day, with delays on flights and etc. There was an error w the bkg, not hotels fault,but room was only for 1 person instead of three. Staff were more then willing to correct it. Went above and beyond to help us,they literally saved the day... at 7 they went to make an extra bed. Cannot be more pleased. Very helpful staff, clean rooms, well located.

Checking in could not be easier as you get a text with the door code to your room.The rooms are very clean and funcional with a great ensuite shower and toiletThe only negative I have is that there is only one surface to put yourBook, Glasses, phone to charge is used by the hospitality tray and you have to pull out the chest its on to use the plugs?The beds were very confortable.

I was attending a Charity Ball in the Museum and only stayed one night with family in the Crofts .Arrived about 4 o'clock in the afternoon, my main concern prior to staying was parking which I was able find less than 50 meters away from Hotel. Booking in was easy as was the entrance to hotel and room ,the staff that I dealt with were friendly and welcoming arranging for transport for us for later in the evening . I booked 3 rooms they were all spacious and were very clean ,also breakfast was very good.I would gladly stay here again as it was excellent value for money.

The rooms have recently been renovated so were very smart and clean. Breakfast was good. My room was above a busy pub so there will be some noise during the evening, not that it bothered me because I was going out.

I enjoyed my stay at the Crofts hotel. It is in a quiet area of Cardiff. The food and accommodation was excellent. If you do not mind walking the City centre is not far away and the major sports centres ie the Principality and Cardiff City too. There are plenty of taxis to take people in and out of the City. I would like to stay at the Crofts again given the opportunity.

Ideal location for our stay. 20 minute walk from city centre,parking available on street or close to railway stations. Room was fresh clean and comfortable and breakfast was the perfect start to the day. Lorraine and Jackie couldn't have been more helpful. Very warm friendly atmosphere. Not suitable for anyone with mobility problems due to steepstairway and walking distance to town but for us it was a great find and would be happy to recommend for a short stay. Thank you

The hotel was renoved recently, so that everything is modern, very clean, the beds are very comfortable and the system with codes for entering the hotel and the room is easy and practice. The only black point is the system of showers, actually if you interrupt the shower, for instance to wash, what everybody does I think, after that the command forces to give cold water before the hot. Moreover, the cabin is relatively straight so that you can't avoid the cold water during your shower. For this reason, I took only 1 shower during the 4 days !

The place is nice , good easy access. Room I had was lovely with all expected amenities. It was clean and appeared very well maintained. I used it for a night stop over while visiting family who live close by. Would definitely use it againON a side note it has a pub attached where staff are lovely and friendly. Suited my needs exactly.

We booked here for a Six Nations rugby match.The room was ideal, very clean, en-suite bathroom and plenty of space.There is also on street parking.We also had the breakfast on our last morning which was excellent.We had forgotten to pre-order the night before however Stephen was very accommodating and soon had our breakfast cooking.

Extremely friendly, down to earth south Wales pub/B&B. Room was excellent (no 7) with probably the best shower I have used in any hotel anywhere in the world.Bar food was great and I was more than happy to share with Oscar the very polite and aging boxer that resides at the hotel. Perfect location if you are looking for somewhere to stay out of Cardiff city centre as it was less than a 10 minute walk to the Globe (where we went to see a gig) and only a few minutes walk from a fantastic choice of retaurants serving food from all over the world.

Have previously visited The Crofts for drinks when staying in Cardiff for the rugby but never stayed overnight. Chose to stay over weekend of 20th November for the rugby.Booked a twin room as travelling with a mate. Easy to park outside and received a warm welcome from Lorraine as we enjoyed a couple of pre-match looseners! Room was ideal for the night. Clean, tidy and comfortable.Headed back to The Crofts after the match and had an enjoyable evening drinking with the locals, watching the France v NZ match. Ordered breakfast for the morning which was excellent - served by the tireless Lorraine who is a star!Would highly recommend if you’re in town for the rugby or social weekend. 10-15 mins walk into city centre.

We were a group of 6 down for a rugby weekend the Croft hotel is a 15-20 minute walk to the city centre/ Principality stadium so an excellent location. The rooms were comfortable and clean and all the staff were very friendly and accommodating would definitely stay again.

We stayed in the triple room. It was immaculately clean and very comfortable with a lovely shower. The breakfast was generous and tasty and extra effort was made for those of us who were vegetarian and gluten intolerant. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay again.

Before arriving, booking was easy and rooms are very good value for money. I received a text on the day of arrival giving room numbers and door codes which was good. However I was not told that the pub was not part of the hotel business, and when we arrived at approx 5.20 there was no-one about in the hotel side and so we went into the bar to check in. Staff in the bar very helpful, told us where to go to gain entry to the hotel side of the business. Code would not work on one of the bedroom doors. Had to go back down to the bar for assistance. Directed to a different member of staff (from the hotel) who came and showed me which door to use for the second room (which actually had two doors and different codes to each door!)Still no clear explanation about the two "sides" of the business. Next morning we went down to breakfast and out to the pub door, which was locked. A man getting into his car asked us if we were going for breakfast and showed us which door to go through, which was fine. Breakfast was excellent but no real choice within the cooked breakfast: from the business' point of view could be unprofitable, could have been giving guests items of food they did not want and would leave, so a menu would have been helpful, plus instructions on the breakfast (another family had sat down and did not realise the cereal was a "help yourself") Then a man (who did not introduce himself but could have been the manager or owner) came in while we were eating breakfast and asked us why we had come in the wrong door. We explained it was because no-one had told us where to go. The conversation went on and I explained about the previous evening when no-one was in that side and so we had gone into the bar. When I told him about the room codes the previous evening, he said "well no-one else has ever had that problem!" I find that hard to believe, some of the rooms at the top of the hotel lead up from various different staircases, one of which goes through a laundry room, and there is no signage explaining where the rooms are. The property is very clean and the rooms are very comfortable, I think with a bit more up-front communication and information to prospective guests this would be an excellent business.

Hi Sharon.We are still in a pandemic.Some people are still quite nervous about it.We have put in place certain measures which enables guests NOT to make physical contact with staff if they so wish.Texting door entry codes is one example you seemed to be aware of. The staff are really sincere communicators and offered you assistance. Sounds like you enjoyed your stay but \"curates egg\" is almost like saying the glass is half empty rather than half full?

We had a lovely stay at The Crofts. Very friendly and helpful staff who made us feel at home straight away. The room was very clean and functional. The breakfast was delicious. The pub itself is very well situated for local bars and restaurants with only a 10-15 minute walk from the City centre and train station to the The Bay. Very good value for money and we will definitely return.

Although you may be hesitant to book a stay at a pub in a residential area, the Crofts provided modern accommodation of an excellent standard with a super easy contactless check-in (and out) experience by sending an access code via text. An easy level 20 minute walk to central Cardiff, a great spot to stay

The hotel is located quite close to city centre.I would estimate nearly a mile away to the castle, and city centre area.The hotel was good, clean, and the room was good as well.The shower looked brand new, and generally the hotel was well decorated throughout.The breakfasts were good as well.There is a pub below the rooms, and it can be slightly noisy at times, but nothing to worry about.There is free car parking, but it's on the street, and usually there are a few spaces directly outside the hotel.The location is in a residential area, so you need to be aware that there are some residents car parking permits, which you should avoid using.However, there are a few unallocated parking spaces down side roads close by if need be.Overall, very good value for money, and I recommend it.

It is great to stay at the hotel where the bed is comfy and the room is styish.In addition, east check-in and out.Yet, it would be nice if the host could provide me a desk for study.

This is a pub with rooms and set up for no-contact-bokings (code to enter room).Getting in to the rooms was not obvious late at night as there was no light over the "hotel" sign and entrance behind the railings.Might be good to put a sign "hotel rooms" over the door in the bar/restaurant area.Quite steep stairs.It seems our room (4) was newly refurbished.It was good to have two double beds in the room.The shower was great but there was limited shelf space to put washbags.Great good-value breakfast.Parking in the street.TV in the room but no terrestrial channels ie BBC/Sky news.

Me and my mum came to stay for a night and it was lovely! The room was really comfy and clean, and the breakfast was amazing! Thank you to the staff as they were very welcoming and made our stay even better. We will definitely be returning!

We arrived at 8.30pm to a warm welcome. The rooms were clean and spacious and there was a friendly atmosphere in the pub downstairs. The venues location means that parking can be challenging as it's mainly residential permit holders only, but there are a few spaces available around these. We went out for a meal and returned after 10pm, so parking in the permit spaces wasn't a problem (permit holders only between 8am and 10pm).As the area is residential, loads of cars had left the non-permit spaces before 8am, so a swift change of parking location meant we could enjoy a relaxed breakfast. Mush the same as putting your towels out on a sunbed when on holiday.Overall, lovely accommodation, lovely atmosphere, nice breakfast, great price. When I'm back in the area, this will be on my list of hotels to book into.

The hotel is well-located, clean and efficient. Rooms are no-nonsense, no frills. You get a chair, bed and TV along with tea and coffee facilities and a decent shower.That is what I was looking for and it worked well.

I stayed at the crofts with my husband and sister, and the three of us couldn’t have been happier with our stay. We were greeted by Lorraine, who is the crofts superwoman.The room was nice and clean and spacious for three adults, and the we bought the breakfast in the morning, which Lorraine cooked and served for all guests in record time, as well as taking everyone’s orders. She warned us of possible noise as the rooms are above a pub, and although there was some noise, I didn’t find it too bad even though I slept with the windows open. But something for light sleepers to keep in mind. The rooms are a short walk into the town centre, which was perfectly located for me.I would definitely stay again.

from entering the property I was greeted warmly by the staff and given a much needed cup of tea.the room was bright, clean, and spacious enough for extended guests. double bed, clean sheets and a comfortable bed and pillows. tea & coffee facilities were pleasingly available and plenty. plenty of power points, which is a must as far as I am concerned.the shower room was new, clean with separate shower cubicle, and a power point.although I did not have anything to eat, as I had already booked a meal with family, I did however, stay long enough to see others enjoying their meals, which looked plenty and delicious. there is a bar with a good selection of drinks.the area is very near to the City Centre and local park.the Croft Hotel is hard to find on Google search. I would recommend that you seek them out via Wales tourist info.

Despite being above a pub, surprisingly quiet. Looks newly refurbished, and the bathroom has a fantastic shower. No TV or other creature comforts but has all the essentials and a comfortable double bed. Perfect for a one night stay, and close to the centre.

The staff were very accommodating and friendly (we even had a history lesson on the Hotel itself, which was a lovely added touch).The room had been recently refurbished and was modern and clean.We would definitely stay again.

I stayed one night with my teenage son to look around the city. The staff were really friendly arranged for us to have rooms next door to each other. The rooms were bright and airy, very clean, tidy and comfortable. We didnt hear any noise from the pub. It was a short 10 minute walk to the City centre and no issues with parking. It was very good value for money. Next time I'm in the City I will book a room.

Room 7 looked brand new. It was really clean and the furnishings were all new. Staff were polite and helpful. The pub downstairs had a friendly atmosphere. All in all good value for money.

Our rooms were so fresh looking that we thought it was a new business: surprised that it had been opened since last May.Absolutely spotless, plenty of space, comfortable beds.We thought the breakfast hours on Sunday were a bit too harsh but being able to exchange for (a really good) lunch was a great option.Everyone was very kind and helpful, too.Only downside was that we had thought it was nearer the city centre than it is - but the weather was so atrocious (Storm Dennis) that we were better off getting a taxi anyway.

This place absolutely amazed me for the cost.Reception by Jackie was friendly as was the locals in the bar, specially for an english guy in Cardiff in the midst of the 6 Nations. Watch for Crofty the African Grey, he talkative as well.Room was extremely well appointed and comfortable.Excellent place to stay 10/10

We were visiting Cardiff for the first time because my granddaughter started university there this September. My son and I decided to share a twin room to keep costs reasonable.The twin room at The Crofts was very clean, the beds very comfortable and the bathroom immaculate. If we had one small suggestion to improve the comfort it would to provide some pegs in the bathroom on which to hang dressing gowns or towels and perhaps a small table in the bedroom as somewhere to park your cup of tea or newspaper. A special mention must go to the quality of the sound proofing which was incredible.This was a definite bonus since the rooms are situated over the pub whose patrons were inclined to be a bit on the enthusiastic side. The soundproofing meant that we were not in the least troubled by noise. The landlady was very welcoming and helpful and did everything she could to make our stay a pleasant one.

We were welcomed by very friendly and helpful hosts. We arrived about 3 hours early but were allowed to check into our room anyway. The room was very clean and once the pub closed very quiet. In an excellent position fir central Cardiff, would recommend them to anyone .

Lovely staff, nice and clean rooms, good price and overall a nice stay. Keep in mind it's above a pub, so it can take a little while for things to quit down in the evening. But if you're ok with that I highly recommend it.

From the moment we booked the The Crofts have been very accommodating of our needs. We're working in Cardiff on business and are planning on staying here for the duration of the project. Great proximity to Cardiff and other amenities in the area. The facilities in the hotel are very good and the staff are very friendly and welcoming.

As someone who travels with work regularly, in chain-owned hotels, I decided to change my usual choice and go for The Crofts. I can honestly say it was the best nights sleep I have had in 3 years of business travel! The loft room I stayed in was also so comfy, quiet and spotlessly clean to match. Breakfast in the morning was great and accommodating of my vege requests! Will 100% be booking with Lorraine and her brilliant colleagues again when my working travels take me to Cardiff next time :)

Staff were friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived with the girls accommodated us right from the staff so we had rooms next to each other clean and tidy and cheap food and drinks.

The landlady is incredibly welcoming and couldnt be more helpful. The location of the Crofts is only a 10 minute walk from Cardiffso is really great value for money. The pictures of the rooms on the website do not do them justice, they are very modern and the beds and duvet are what you would find at a top hotel. I would definitely recommend staying here!

Stayed here with my best friend to see Pink concert in Principality Stadium. It was clean and modern rooms, bed was very comfy didn't want to get out lol. Food was fabulous and staff and owners were amazingly helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay there again next time. Can't fault them in any way. Thoroughly enjoyed staying x
